Primarily Suburban in its makeup, Wynnewood lays along the historic Pennsylvania Main Line and has been noted as the fifth most affluent neighborhood in the United States.

Shopping in the area is spread out as Wynnewood does not necessarily have a designated downtown district. Shopping centers in the area provide residents with options for clothing, accessories, and bookstores. Whole Foods is located in the heart of Wynnewood and is a local favorite spot to have lunch and grab groceries for the week. Wynnewood's recreational parks are unique in which they are shared with the neighboring community of Ardmor. Together the two communities maintain the grounds and provide activities throughout the Summer for local kids to enjoy while out of school.

The historic Wynnewood train station is home to the SEPTA stop today and provides the community with easy access to and from surrounding neighboring towns.
